Fare Assistance Program ($5-$10 Rides)

This year, we have received additional funds to help us reduce rates for anyone struggling with costs. Our newest subsidy is called the Fare Assistance Program and it is available for all passengers who identify as low income or face a financial barrier. This fund will continue until the fund has been spent or end of March 2022, whichever comes first.

To access this fund, simply mention you are low income when booking a ride. Our dispatcher will provide you with a set fare cost based on your region. The rates are as follows:

Regions Cost per person
Corridor Area (Milford to Enfield) $5
Nearby Communities

(Nine Mile River, Dutch Settlement,

Shubenacadie, Oakfield)

$7
All Other Parts of Service Area

(Coldstream, Hants North, Mount Uniacke, Lakelands, Indian Brook,

Wellington, Fall River, Waverley)

$10

Rides between regions will be charged up to $10 at the discretion of the dispatcher.

Passengers in receipt of a Department of Community Services transportation allowance must first use their DCS allowance before they can apply with the exception of travel that is not supported by DCS.

EHCR recognizes the support of the Province of Nova Scotia. We are pleased to work in partnership with the Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage (CCH). Through their generous support, we are able to reduce the cost of transportation and make our region more accessible for all residents.
