East Hants Community Rider is pleased to announce the arrival of our first fully electric vehicle. Keep an eye out on the road for our new 2024 Hyundai Kona. We’re very excited to make our fleet greener and more efficient.
With this addition, our fleet is the largest it’s ever been. We have 4 hybrid SUVs, 3 8-passenger vans and now a fully electric vehicle.
With all of this change, it’s important to remember that our service remains committed to the same goals – making transportation accessible to everyone in our community. Whether it’s a one-off trip to the airport or a daily trip to or from work or school, our drivers are here to make life more accessible.

We Have Glasses to View
the Solar Eclipse
April 8th, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
On April 8th, there will be a solar eclipse between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. This will be a partial eclipse in our region, but at it’s peak at 4:38 p.m., the moon will cover approximately 95% of the sun.
Please note that it is dangerous to look at the sun, especially during an eclipse. To help people in our community safely view the eclipse, we have solar eclipse glasses available while supplies last. If you are interested, please give us a call at 902-883-1608 during office hours – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday.
For more information about the eclipse, including safety recommendations, check out this page from St. Mary’s University: https://observatory.smu.ca/eclipse-2024

Looking to advertise your business, promote an event or connect to the community? Consider joining our Corporate Support Program! We have a range of promotional opportunities, including posters on the windows of our vans, a message on our Highway 214 sign or sponsorship for a range of free or low cost community events.
All funds given through the Corporate Support Program go directly back into our programs and services. This is a great way to give back to the community and spread the word in East Hants.
Do you or someone you know want to improve their English? We have a free community English class that is open to learners of all levels. Classes are Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at our office, 224 Highway 214 in Elmsdale.
Every week, we discuss a new topic, introduce vocabulary, ask questions, watch videos to test listening skills and much more. The goal is to get comfortable speaking, reading and writing English on a wide variety of topics.
Interested in joining in? Everyone is welcome! Please get in touch so we can have a seat ready for you. Due to the mixed levels of learners in the class, some topics may be more challenging than others.
