November is always a busy month, with the lead up to the holidays and lots of things to do. This year, our Tuesdays are particularly bustling, with our Community Cafes from 1:30 to 2:30 and Tuesday’s Topic workshops in the evening. Both of these programs are great ways to learn with us.
Not available on Tuesdays? We have other weekly programs running from Monday to Thursday. From getting high school equivalency to learning phones, tablets and computers, to improving English and connecting socially, we’ve got a range of programs for adults of all ages.

7th Annual Harvest Dinner
We had a fantastic time at our Harvest Dinner at Cup of Soul on Thursday, October 30th. This year, we moved the dinner over to Cup of Soul for the first time and everything went perfectly. The drive-thru flowed smoothly, there was lots of room for our team of volunteers to pack the orders and we served up close to 200 meals to the community.
Thank you to Pam and her team from Cup of Soul for preparing another delicious dinner for this event. We also had a great crew of volunteers from RBC, East Hants & Districts Chamber of Commerce, our Board of Directors and our phenomenal staff and garden crew.
We hope you enjoyed the meal as much as we enjoyed putting it together. This is such a fun event and we hope you will join us again next year!
Busting Food Labelling Myths
Second Harvest is holding an online drop-in session on Wednesday, November 5th starting at 12 p.m. This session is focused on best before dates and how to reduce food waste and identify whether food is safe to eat.
