UPDATE: We have secured additional funding. This will enable us to continue the Senior Transportation Program until the end of April 2021. The rates have been adjusted to reflect our other subsidies currently available.
The East Hants & Area Community Rider (EHCR) is pleased to announce a new subsidized transportation program for Seniors (55+). This program is designed to make it easier and more affordable for seniors to access transportation. Funds are limited and the goal is to assist as many passengers as possible. The funds are available for use from February 1st 2021 until the end of April 2021. Funding is available on a first come, first served basis until the fund is fully expended.
How does the subsidy work?
- Passengers will be offered the subsidy if they are age 55 or over.
- Passengers will book transportation as needed and pay their subsidized fare immediately to ensure the subsidy is still available.

Rides between regions will be charged up to $10 at the discretion of the dispatcher.
